The green area at the bottom Hasenbergsteige

The Hasenbergsteige that leads to the Stuttgart basin west up to the heights on the shell edge and the forest contains Glems, in the lowest area of a small park. In this area the Hasenbergsteige consists of two road lanes which diverge from bottom to top in the shape of an isosceles triangle. Between the two carriageways are cramping the park.

The current opportunity to visit this park is the new memorial to Henry Dunant, which was unveiled a few weeks ago there was. Besides this monument there is to see some other things.

A possible starting point for the lowest Hasenbergsteige is the S-Bahn station lake of fire. Leave the underground station on the city's external Page and follow the Rotebühlstraße of town about 200 meters. Then turn left onto Hasenbergstraße. The Hasenbergstraße goes, 250 yards slightly uphill. Then we come to the beginning of the Hasenbergsteige, the half-right leads to relatively steep upwards.

Right at the start of the Hasenbergsteige is the goose Peter well. This fountain was inaugurated in 1901, shows a shepherd, struggling to restrain his moving away geese. Previously, the Martin's on 11 November geese from surrounding villages to Stuttgart driven.
The lower Hasenbergsteige is flanked on both sides of some significant buildings from the period. On the left side at number 3 is the home of the International Bach Academy. This building is a magnificent 1878/79 to create the style of the Italian Renaissance.
On the right side of the Hasenbergsteige seen at the front corner of No. 4 a rabbit fleeing from a hunting dog. Motifs are in buildings Art Nouveau to see again and again.
The rabbit of No. 4 is extremely regrettable, because the facade of No. 6, a hunter aims his rifle just in the direction of corner of house # 4
In the green area in front of House No. 10 is the newly erected monument to Henry Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross. He lived in house No. 10 of 1876 -. In 1887

Memorial to Henry Dunant offset consists of four stacked cubes of white Carrara marble. The offset cube are the ruptures in Dunant symbolize life. A fifth square is located separately on the ground ahead of the other blocks. The fifth square is a saying by Henry Dunant, "Oh, how beautiful is this I love the Stuttgart Swabia.." When Henry Dunant was living in Stuttgart, this may have applied in full. Today, the beauty has at least to get some scratches.
On the four sides of the square is the biography of Henry Dunant read.
The higher you climb, the wider the park.

One option is to entlangzuspazieren When the road halfway through S-Heslach. When the road is the continuation of the left branch of the lower Hasenbergsteige. At the end of the road When the Gebel mountain road straight ahead. Then turn left onto Benckendorffstraße and reaches the light rail station Bihlplatz (U1, U14), (1.4 miles from the upper end of the park Hasenbergsteige to the light rail station Bihlplatz).
